Who is Kathryn Huxtable?

I am an Identity Management Developer. I spent 23 years of my career at The University of Kansas. I've been working in computing since the early 1980s so I've seen a lot of changes, both in computing at KU and also in the rest of the world.

This site is currently hosting both kathrynhuxtable.org and kathrynhuxtable.com with exactly the same content. I figured that at some point I might want to start up a consulting business. I wanted the .com domain for that purpose, still unrealized, and the .org domain for my own personal purposes.

What is on this site?

At the moment, just my personal interest pages. The links below take you to various of my personal interests. I don't claim to be a writer of riveting prose and these pages don't change often. On the other hand, people do come here and poke around, so I assume I'm saying something that someone wants to read.

The pages that get the most hits seem to be the flexagon pages and the lesbian wedding page. (The marriage is over, but I'm loathe to remove the page since it seems to be a useful resource.)

	I enjoy reading a great deal. When I don't have time to sit down and read I get quite grouchy.
	I recently acquired two telescopes and took up stargazing again. I mostly observe from my home in town, where the light pollution is terrible, but occasionally I take my big scope out of town. See the www.cleardarksky.com forecast for Kansas City. Click the image for more detail.
	I've been playing around lately with flexagons, and I have instructions for making them, an interactive Java-based flexer, plus a bit more.
	I am a Unitarian Universalist. Unitarian Universalism is more a religious outlook than a particular set of religious beliefs, and is not an exclusive religion.
	I'm involved in gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender issues and organizations, though not as actively as several years ago.
	I like playing with graphics software, and I have some images you might like to peruse. I created most of the images on my web pages. Please don't use them without permission. Copyright law applies and all that.
